THE DISH GETS ITS NAME BECAUSE OF THE USE OF MINCED CHICKEN. THE PROCESS OF MINCING MEAT IS TERMED AS SCOTCHING, HENCE THE NAME OF THE DISH….
- Chicken Mince: 150gms.
- Egg – 2 nos.
- All purpose flour – 50 gms.
- Breadcrumbs – 50 gms.
- Finely chopped garlic – 2 gms.
- Finely chopped ginger- 2 gms.
- Salt- As per taste.
- Pepper- As per taste.
- Oil- for frying.
Step by Step Instructions
Take the mince chicken in a bowl , add the finely chopped ginger & garlic in the bowl ,season it with salt and pepper and mix it well.
Boil the egg for 8 minutes for a semi hard egg.
After boiling, carefully peel the egg without damaging the egg white.
Coat the egg evenly with the prepared minced chicken mixture.
Dip in egg wash and cover it with breadcrumbs to add a crisp layer .
Repeat the process for coating the egg with breadcrumbs , so as to make sure that the mince remain intact while frying the scotch egg.
After coating the egg , keep it in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes
Heat oil for frying the egg and fry it on a medium flame, till the outer layer turns golden brown and crisp.
Remove and cut into half. Serve hot with Hollandaise sauce or can also go well with any type of salad.
